OVERNET FIREWALL : le risorse richieste ad ogni client cresceranno esponenzialmente!!!perchè teoricamente servless significa che tutti si connettono contutti...si vabbè con supernodi e gerarchie di supernodi, si riduce questointreccio "tutti a tutti"ma è come dire che la rete sarà un po servless e un po server...ma chiaccetterà di fare da server col suo pc mentre tanti scrocconi, settando ilfirewall, scroccheranno solamente?ora saranno solo 200mila, ma quando saranno 500mila o 1milione?siccome a tanti stronzi rode il culo, succederà come su winmx che nessunovuole fare da server pure se gli succhia solo 1K di banda e come ho dettosopra sarà facile evitare di fare da server...a me quando si connettono 10000 utenti (ho un ADSL 640/128) se ne va tuttoil processore, di banda ne rimane anche un po...e poi pure se ti va via il 10% della CPU il pc comincia a rallentare adessere un po' scattoso...chi resisterà alla tentazione di evitare da fare daserver ed avere tutta la CPU...magari per non farci un bel nientewinmx è in piedi, ma hai provato ad usarlo?ti devi sconnettere e riconnettere fino ala noia per sperare di connettertisenpre a supernodi diversi e sperare che così riesci a trovare quell'utenteche sai essere online ed è l'unico ad avere il file che cerchi... OVERNET FIREWALL : se ti connetti in secondario, non trovi un cazzo...quindi ti devi connetterein primario mettere a scaricare tutto quello che puoi e poi passare allasecondaria per avere un minimo di banda e la tua cpu...senza poi contare glistronzi che ci sono su winmx: una volta uno non aveva nessuno in coda e misconnetteva appena mi attaccavo, perchè gli dava fastidio che qualcunoscaricasse da lui...NO COMMENT!pensa se su overnet ci vengono 500mila utenti così che col firewall sibloccano le connessioni in entrata per non fare da serer e ci sono così500mila parassiti...lo spero veramente! anche perchè sono sicuro che qualsiasi cosa si dicatanti andranno su overnet: su internet si segue la novità e la moda anchesenza motivo...per questo bill ha fatto tanti soldi: win95 era un chiavica,ma nonostante ciò tutti se lo sono preso! medita!non conosco le righe di codice, ma il problema si! e pure se ilprogrammatore è superfigo, con una rete servless pura, o a supernodi, o agerarchie di supernodi, i problemi sono quelli! non si scappa! ci vorrebberoaltri stratagemmi se proprio si vogliono togliere i server, ma è chiaro cheovernet funziona a supernodi, quindi... It's not narmallynecessary to define the WAN IP as the NAT router already knows this.You have 2 LAN areas set-up using non routable IP ranges [10.0.0.n &192.168.0.n].I'm guessing here but would think the UNIX box has a static route setupbtween the two internal LAN areas.That's the best I can do as I've never used this setup or indeed a Modem/NATRouter combo box. OVERNET FIREWALL : what I still do not understand is, that transmission becomes onlySLOW, instead of IMPOSSIBLE, if those settings are incorrect.A firewall is pretty useless because the router is already doing the same work :)Sure: a router act as a a firewall because it does'nt allow incoming trafficfrom unknown address, but allow incoming traffic only if this incoming trafficis a reply to your request: as example, if you reqest the page the router allow incoming traffic from , but if you're not askingfor the website and tryes to reach you, the router does'nt allowthe incoming traffic.Solution 1: if the router can be used in both ways "modem/router" and "pure modem"configure it as "pure modem".Solution 2: checkout what are the ports used by edo/overnet( options--->network look both TCP and UDP)then configure the router to allow incoming and ougoing trafficin both ports. (check router manual)Nonsense. A NAT Router offers very limited protection and it certainly doesnot protect the user from egress by suspect applications. Always use aFirewall.
