Boy, am Ibehind on my soul or what?4 & 5 - John T's Denver 2003 Rising Show discs 1 & 2 - At first listenI wasn't sure what all the 'hype' was about on this recording. It isfar from perfect. However, the more you listen to it the better itseems to get. AND....the version of Kitty at this show SMOKES! 6. SSJ and the Asbury Jukes - The Trax club afternoon show that Itreed here a few years ago. I remember this radio broadcast to thisday, and how pissed I was that I missed a song or two before I gothome to record it. However, they are at their best, even if they werein Cleveland the night before at the Agora.Sting- Sacred LoveAnnie Lenox- BareJoss Stone - Soul SessionsSpringsteen - Tracks 4th DiscNeil Young - Everyone Knows....John Coltrane - A Love Supreme BITTORRENT TRACKER : Neil Young - Echo - a neat compilation that gets a little from now as farback as his Buffalo Springfield days,Bruce and Friends - the Dec. 7th show - oh, to have been thereDave Matthews - Incantation - a collection from the band, solo, unplugges, storytellers - pretty coolA little less on the CD player this week because I will be study for finals, and taking them, so not as much listening to music as usual:1) Jesse Malin - The Fine Art of Self-Destruction- Fantastic CD, really like what I hear2) Dylan bootlegs from James Crisci, fellow Hillsborough-ite- From Rolling Thunder Revue to 1993...solid stuff3) Nils Lofgren - The Best- This is a record but I'm gonna throw it in here anyway----------------------------------NEW UPDATES 12/06/03: geocities.com/kpboss23~leave what you've lost, leave what's grown old.... on thunder road...~ A place to discuss movies, music and life. (Busiest in the evenings)Sometimes a tune will just grab me that way for a little while. I've also been on a serious Ramones kick lately, particularly'Today Your Love, Tomorrow The World' and 'Do You Remember Rock 'n'Roll Radio?'"Still In Love Song" by The Stills. I must have listened to it 10 times in a row - and I never get tired of it.For me, it's almost all boots as I've got about 100 cd's that I need to gothrough. The Prodigals--Dreaming in Hell's KitchenNickel Creek--7/16/1998Mavericks--Rarities Round Up (Demos and outtakes)Van Morrison--11/1/1978Warren Zevon--4/18/1980Elvis--12/29/1976Kansas- -1982Journey--8/9/1979Johnny Cash--1971 concertJohn Cowan Band--8/4/2002If it weren't the Peaches discussion a little while ago eclipsing...well, everything, I'd be really shocked to see someone posting aboutHowie. But as it stands, this rocks - I tend to use RMAS as abarometer for rock, to an extent (the day one of my punk bands ismentioned on here, however, is the day I vote Conservative), becausewhen an artist I like is mentioned on here I can tell they're crossinginto the mainstream conciousness. BITTORRENT TRACKER : Anyway, Howie: Scarily enough, I've been listening to him for almostfour years. His debut album, Australia, was self-financed,self-released and self-distributed, selling something like 25,000copies that way until Epic took notice in '02 and rereleased it. Ifyou like Stop All The World Now, give it a look - it's a bit morerough hewn than SATWN (the only way I can describe it is that itsounds like SATWN's 'Trouble in Here' times ten. Except, y'know, notall sounding the same), less Coldplay meets U2 and more Radioheadmeets U2. 'She Says', the original, is particularly amazing.. muchmore gruff and emotional than the polished version on SATWN.Howie's big on taping and trading of his shows, so pretty mucheverything he's played since 2000 or so is out there for trade ordownload (archive.org hosts a bunch of shows, and I also run abittorrent tracker dedicated to him at). Howie's always been an excellentlive show, whether solo with guitar and looping pedals or playing witha full band. Check it out. Whoring session over. BITTORRENT TRACKER : Michael Neumann sent me a nice dvd & cd-rom withall the talks on videotape.I will happily share all this with you, but I would be very happyif we could setup a few mirrors first as we speak of a lotof needed bandwidth. If you are willing to mirror parts or all of it, please send me anemail & I will tell you how to get the data.---------------------------------------- Armin Roehrl, We manage riskBitTorrent () might be ideal for this. Then everybody can help mirror it.Armin Roehrl [] wrote:>> >I'd be more than happy to either host some files or run a BitTorrent tracker.Just contact me via email.I'd definitely prefer something other than (or in addition to) BitTorrent. While I like the idea of it ... (a) it screwed my Windows TPC/IP stack when I installed it and now I can't get to the outside world on that box, because it blue screens (and, yes, I did uninstall BT; it seems to linger anyway :-) and (b) because it's based on usage "fairness" it doesn't work at all well for people who have up/download limits, which is sadly the norm here in Oz.
