BITTORRENT MAC : Has anyboy with a Mac running OS 9 been able to successfully Torrent any of the PGSM episodes? I've gone to BitTorrent's home page, installed the appropriate version of MacPython, and used the source code to create the btdownloadheadless application.When selecting a BitTorrent link, btdownloadheadless launches, processes for awhile, and then gives me "trouble accessing files - [Errno 2] No such file or directory".This happens every time. The "no such file or directory" is in reference to the fact that the name (supplied within the metafile) was truncated to make it MacOS 9 legal, and the output file was created using that truncated name, but BT is trying to open the output file using the "full sized" name directly (without truncating first) from the .torrent file, which of course fails because there's no such file anywhere on your drives. BITTORRENT MAC : The solution:Hold down the option key while opening BTDownloadHeadless with a double-click. (DO NOT attempt to drag-n-drop to open a metafile in order to get things going - it's never going to work for you if the filename in the metafile is longer than the regulation 31 (or is it 32?) characters that MacOS 9 can cope with) In the dialog that will appear, you'll see a big button labeled "Set unix-style command line" almost at the bottom. Hit it. In the text-edit field in the dialog that comes up from that, type the following (changing filenames/paths/URLs as needed):If you *HAVEN'T* already downloaded the metafile manually, you want to enter something like this:Then hit "OK", and then "Run" (or hit return twice) and the metafile will be grabbed, stashed, and used as needed. Congratulations - you'reHeh, me too... I wish I knew enough about BT, I'd write a client that would run on almost anything (as long as there was a sockets implementation like BSD sockets - even Windows has that). BITTORRENT MAC : I'm a newbie to Bittorrent (Mac OS X version) and I was wondering ifanyone else has had problems with their downloads halting at 98-99%,while still remaining connected to peers. My roommate is also a Macuser and reported that he had not been having this problem with hisdownloads. I'm running 10.3.1 on a 1GHz Powerbook, in case thatinformation is relevant. BITTORRENT MAC : i just updated my system software to jaguar and am finally trying tojump on board the bittorrent bandwagon. i've downloaded the programand then have tried clicking on a few of the links over onsharingthegroove.org but get the same error message each time, tellingme that IE 5.2 doesn't know how to handle the file type. i've readthat if i start up bittorrent while IE isn't running that it shouldinstall the helper app and even though the first time i started up BTmy IE was running, i've since tried closing the browser and opening upBT to get the MIME reading capacity and keep getting the same errormessage each time i try and download. does anybody have anysuggestions? please e-mail me directly with any advice since i'm athome currently and reading via dejanews.Second of all I think you have to save the file make sure it is named something.torrent (.torrent at the end) and either open it from the finder of the bittorrent client.I use it with no problems but haven't gotten it to work directly from any browser yet. Koscher ist das nicht. Und mitBittorrent hat es auch nichts zu tun, obwohl sie so tun als ob.Was ist es denn? Ein Dailer? Ein Trojanisches Pferd?
