One would have thought that they have learned by now how to avoid alienating potential contributors. Clearly ythey have not done so and amde asses out of themselves in the process. It is not Bill Unruh that needs to get a clue but some of the mindless Mandrake drones that inhabit this newsgroup driving new users away. Wake up, Dan C. The world is turning.-----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World!-----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =-----This page contains half a page of very large font text - less than 20seconds reading. Including"If you are new to BitTorrent, be sure to read the Introduction tounderstand how BitTorrent works. If you have any questions, please referto the FAQ." BITTORRENT LINUX : There is an obvious link to the introduction page which is very clearA very simple diagram on how it works. Again very little to read.Yes Mandrake could have communicated in big red letters that BT is p2psoftware, for the likes of people that cant click on a couple of links tofind out about this strange new technology."If you need an explanation on how to use and install BitTorrent pleaseread these stories: and Setup BitTorrent on yourMandrake Linux and the associated comments""How does BitTorrent work ? It is a Peer to Peer system. While you aredownloading you are also allowing others to download from you."But if you feel so strongly that the letters weren't big enough and redenough simply dont install Mandrake and stop going on about it.Communicate it to them instead and make a +ve contribution. Thanks for that repost. Of course, the people who are having so muchtrouble will probably not bother reading this post either, as that wouldtake too much of their time, and be very difficult. BITTORRENT LINUX : Well, you must be related to Bill, or something. To me, it was adequatelyexplained, and links were provided for more reading if desired. Nobody istrying to drive new users away, but people have got to realize that theycan't have their hand held all the way through life. There was nothinghard or secretive about how Mandrake deployed BitTorrent. It did requiremost users to do a little homework, which I didn't mind a bit. If thatbothers you, perhaps you should just give up, boot Windoze, and tradeviruses with Bill. Have a nice day.I just switched to Fedora Core. Along side Knoppix/Debian, and Gentoo, I am not deprived while waiting for proper mirrors.-----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World!-----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =-----BT uploads the torrent file you are currently downloading. Download rate is tied to upload rate. BT relies on a distributed p2p process to speed downloads, the more people downloading the faster, it starts out slow then ramps up. BT > All I get is tracker timeout and it aborts. WTF???
